“The Micro Rhythmic Home Delivery Kit is a desire-creating machine. It transmits vibrations to the body and through long-term exposure, impregnates the exposed. These machines were developed by the The Republic of Ina in an effort to increase the falling birth rates and the global labor shortage. Due to its success in impregnating all beings that have been exposed to its micro rhythmic oscillations, the technology has been adopted by many countries. In a coordinated global campaign, the Micro Rhythmic Home Delivery Kit has been placed in millions of homes across 14 different countries in the world. It is a sound virus that mutates and then passes through the human carrier.”
The Micro Rhythmic Home Delivery Kit is a continuous speculative artwork collaborated by ZhenZhen Zhong and Kai-luen Liang looking at the intersections between desire, industrial design, propaganda, artificial intelligence, and sonic transmission. It imagines multiple “fake” solutions to real-life government campaigns to increase a falling birth rate. It combines speculative product design, corporate news language, government propaganda, and the drive to “use AI in everything” into a multi-sensory audio-visual installation. We use different machine learning models such as facial swapping, voice cloning, ChatGPT, text-to-audio, and text-to-image generation to generate the majority of the material. We repurposed the aesthetic of corporate news channels and sleek product design. The project consists of videos, sounds, archival documentation, photography, and physical products.
