ZhenZhen Zhong
ZhenZhen is an interdisciplinary artist currently living and working in Los Angeles and Guangzhou. Her practice spans installation, mechanical sculpture, moving images, painting, photography, sound, and data, integrating diverse media into multifaceted sensory experiences.
Through handcrafted mechanical assemblies, she creates "non-human performers" that explore the interplay between the body, labor, and technology within semi-fictional contexts. Her recent practice extends into researching narratives of sweetness and microscopic life, using these topics as vehicles to investigate non-human temporality and the evolutionary threads of matter. Through the orchestration of space, her work seeks to evoke an intuitive bodily perception that transcends the visual.
She had her double-person show in Double Double Gallery in Beijing. Her latest work Women at Work was shown at UTA Artist Space in Los Angeles. She has recently been a member of the Goethe Institute fellowship program AI to Amplify. She participated in the 2021 Huayu Youth Art Award(Sanya, China) as a member of the artist collective — "44 Monthly”. Her project Built at Sea was selected and exhibited at Power Station of Arts in Shanghai.

She received her MFA degree from California Institute of the Arts both majoring in Art & Tech and Costume Design. BFA in Art and Design in Central Academy of Fine Art in China.

独立艺术家，生活和工作于洛杉矶与广州。她的创作涵盖装置、机械雕塑与影像，融合绘画、摄影、声音与数据，将多种媒介视为耦合的整体。
她通过手工制作的机械装置创造“非人类表演者”，在半虚构的情境中探讨身体、劳动与技术的博弈。近期，她的实践延伸至对甜味叙事与微观生命的观察，借此探索非人类的时间性与物质的演化脉络。通过对空间的调度，其作品试图唤起一种超越视觉的、直觉性的身体感知。2025年参与“寰宇弧光”项目，双个展“水位线”2024年夏天在协力空间展出。她曾是歌德学院AI to Amplify项目的成员之一。作品Women at Work在洛杉矶UTA Artist Space展出。她曾以“44月报”组员的身份参与了2021华宇青年艺术奖，“筑海”项目入选2021年PSA青策“他山之石”的线上驻地。
她也以舞美、戏服、影像设计等身份参与多个剧场和电影作品。作品曾参与乌镇戏剧节、北京青戏节、阿维尼翁戏剧节、爱丁堡艺穗节、威尼斯电影节、日本独立电影节、英国音乐录影带大奖、加拿大萨德伯里国际电影节等。
